There is one thing above all others that you've really wanted from your public institutions. It manifests as two primary desires, each stemming from the same common foundation.

• You want your government to guarantee your freedom to pursue happiness.

• You want your churches to provide enlightenment.

The question of why you don't get truth from government is secondary to why you don't get truth from religion. In fact, the problem of the lies of government, and all other social troubles, is really a question of lack of truth in religion. For it is from your religious understanding that your world-view springs, and from there, your political, social and professional opinions and standards.

The simple fact is, where the religious view is lacking truth, no organization can be founded on truth; all organizations in such a situation will be tainted by inaccuracy and will eventuate to lies. It doesn't matter that maybe no one is intentionally lying, although the lies too often are intentional. What matters is that where Truth is absent, incompletely understood or twisted, Real Truth cannot be spoken.

What's that, you say, you're an atheist or a humanist or whatever? You think you're not covered by the above statements? Well, surprise: those are religions too, and just as far off the mark as any of the others.

All social problems lie in the mindset of the people. All such problems develop from foundations of religion, philosophy, wisdom, whatever you wish to call it. What do you want from a world view? Answers? Inner peace? World peace? Transcendence? A personal relationship with whatever higher power as may be? Faith? Or don't you ache for an experiential certainty of Truth?

In fact, what you want, what you've always wanted, is a personal epiphany: a sudden self-illuminating and world-changing fundamental understanding of life and your place in it. Really: you'd like to just turn a corner one day, or wake up one morning, and Know! That's what we all want. The path to it is what we all seek.

But no one has met this need. And for too long now, you've lived in dread that no one ever would.

There's a simple reason for this failure. Until now, no one has possessed an effective understanding of consciousness with which to develop the crucial tool for describing creation and facilitating epiphany. They can't get you "there" becaue they don't know what "it" looks like.
